Corporate Women Leading with Heart: 200 Bags Packed and Headed to East Tennessee

What a wonderful initiative by the HCA Women’s Colleague Network Team 1. It's inspiring to see 200 bags being packed to support children entering foster care in East Tennessee. The dedication of volunteers who generously donate their time and resources to Love On Wheels is truly commendable. We are grateful for the positive impact they are making in the community.

BGA Students make luggage tags for children entering foster care

We extend our sincerest gratitude to the BGA High School Students for their thoughtful contribution of making luggage tags for Love On Wheels. Your act of kindness in providing children with a way to personalize their bags is truly appreciated. Giving children something personal as they navigate their way into the foster care system is invaluable, and your efforts help make a difference in their lives. Thank you for your support and for spreading hope and positivity to those in need.

Partnering with schools and students for donation drives is an excellent way to raise awareness about foster care and provide support to those in need. Offering community service hours is a great incentive for teens to get involved and make a positive impact in their community. Keep up the great work BGA!

A HUGE *THANK YOU* to Monos for their generous donation!

Love On Wheels has received a generous donation of suitcases from Monos, a travel and lifestyle brand known for high-quality, beautifully-designed suitcases.

From the Monos website:

“People before profits.

We value the connections we make with people everywhere – in our travels, collaborations, factory partnerships, and customer service.

We believe that genuine human connection and understanding are the keys to travelling well, doing good business, and living a good life."

Thank you so very much to Monos for these beautiful suitcases. It absolutely makes our hearts SING to think foster children will have these as their very own!

4th Annual Florida Mule Lovers Romp in the Swamp

Love on Wheels is honored to once again be the recipient of the charity funds raised during the 4th annual Florida Mule Lovers Romp in the Swamp, which was held January 15-17 at the beautiful Ashley Campground in Dade City, FL.

Our friend Tammy Bradley founded this ride four years ago to bring mule enthusiasts together for some fun camping and socializing. Romp in the Swamp has grown into a spectacular event attracting mule lovers and their beloved long-ears from many other states - this year boasted 35 riders and 50 generous donors!

“We were able to raise almost $1300 for Love on Wheels. I have seen Love on Wheels with my own eyes and I have known Dr. Kunkel for many years. It is nice to be able to have a charity that you not only trust, but that 100% of the donations are used to spread hope and love to foster children.”
— Tammy Bradley

Thank you so much to Tammy for organizing this wonderful event to help foster children through Love on Wheels!

2017 Grassland Gallop

Love on Wheels was the selected nonprofit for the 2017 Grassland Gallop - a 6K run, 2K walk and 1K kids’ dash - in the Grassland community in Franklin, TN.

LOW volunteers were excited to assist Bethlehem United Methodist Church, which raises money and awareness for a local nonprofit organization each year, in making this a successful, family-friendly event for the Grassland community.

“Love on Wheels was founded and operates right here in Grassland. This was a wonderful opportunity to participate in this annual, family-fun, Grassland community event. As we continue to take action and raise awareness, we improve the lives of the children and deliver a message of hope and encouragement.”

Main Street Festival, Franklin, TN

We participated in the Main Street Festival in Franklin on April 29th and 30th, which gave us the opportunity to inform and educate so many people about our ministry.

Thank you to all the children who stopped by our booth to write a Love Note of encouragement for foster children.  Thanks to our many supporting sponsors, we were able to raffle four baskets - each valued between $150-200! - filled with handcrafted items, gift cards, wine and other goodies.  100% of the raffle proceeds were applied toward the Love on Wheels ministry.

April deliveries to East TN

April showers bring May flowers, AND... Love on Wheels to East Tennessee!  On Thursday, April 6th, Kathy Kunkel, Ginger Bradford and Erin Culbertson delivered LOW suitcases to East Tennessee.  Ginger is a volunteer for LOW assisting in four regions of East TN.  Erin works for the State of TN Department of Children's Services in the Northeast region of TN.

Thank you to the chain of volunteers:  product donors, blanket-makers, LOW center volunteers, assembly volunteers and suitcase transporters.  Many people add touches of LOVE to this process; with your help, LOW has delivered over 1,000 suitcases to foster children in Tennessee since 2014.

After lunch, we gave an informational session about the work we do and the services we provide to children of Williamson County.

Thank you to the Little House Animal Hospital staff and our amazing volunteers for their hard work!

Last Thursday, business students at Belmont University delivered presentations about Love on Wheels. It was great to hear their thoughts and suggestions on how we can continue to raise awareness.

In addition to the presentations, each team wrote a 60+ paper. WOW! We were so impressed! These students have bright futures ahead of them!

Thank you to Belmont University and to all the amazing students we met!
